Why should I report paid links to Google?

It’s been a heavy discussion lately about Buying Links, Paid Links and Paid to Write Review.
For this discussion, it’s best to know that buying or selling links that pass PageRank is in violation of Google’s webmaster guidelines and can negatively impact a site’s ranking in search results.
